Malas and Healing Jewelry by House of Shakti
A certified Kundalini yoga instructor and a Reiki practitioner, Lubna Salah whose spiritual name Anantjeet means eternally brave and victorious, launched House of Shakti in Beverly Hills, CA with a creative vision to use crystals for healing and storytelling.
Born in the U.S. to Palestinian immigrants, Lubna was interested in fashion and design from a young age. Following her passion proved to be difficult however, as she was restricted by family beliefs and ended up studying engineering in the Middle East instead.
Returning to the U.S. brought success for Lubna through a career in internet marketing and advertising. Circling back to her passion in fashion and design came when she started experiencing baffling health issues that Western medicine could not cure. Her search for a natural way to heal her mind and body drew her to yoga, crystals, numerology and astrology. With crystals playing a significant role in her healing, she wanted to share the same modalities and philosophies with other women.
Since ancient times, gemstones have been looked to for their mystical and healing powers. Lubna handcrafts each of her designs using only the highest quality semi-precious gemtones, gold and silver. Each piece is designed with a healing prescription for the soul, to achieve subtle positive changes in one’s aura through the healing properties of crystals and a yogic understanding of chakras. Fittingly, shakti as in the House of Shakti is known in Hinduism as the mother goddess symbolizing the female divine force.
For each design, Lubna chooses an intention with stones to match. Crystals are chosen based on their healing properties and resonance with each other. Finished pieces are then kept in the energy field of many other crystals and upon purchase, Lubna cleanses and activates the crystals using ancient techniques. Information cards and instructions on how to care and cleanse are packaged with all purchases. With a mission to help people discover their inner power, the House of Shakti uses gemstones to create handcrafted jewelry designed to help heal and balance the mind-body-spirit connection.
We received two pieces from the collection – the Manifest Creativity Necklace which retails for $150 and the Raphael Health Necklace which retails for $145. Both pieces came beautifully packaged – from the gold jewelry pouches, to the jewelry box, to the chakra cards – no detail was missed.
The Raphael Health Necklace is made of malachite with an angel wing pendant inspired by the Arcangel Raphael who in the Judeo-Christian tradition performs all manners of healing. Referred to as the Heaven’s Physician, Raphael helps with healing, guidance and support for healers, eliminating addictions, and protecting travelers. This piece would be such a thoughtful gift to anyone, but especially to those who may be battling addictions, those who do a lot of travelling, those who are experiencing health issues, and those who help heal others. Now all enlightenment aside, this necklace is just plain and simple a fab piece of jewelry. It’s so perfect with tank tops now that the weather is warming up. The emerald green color of the malachite in combination with the silver pendant is also a beautiful complement to any skin tone. You can’t go wrong with this piece. It knows no seasons and pairs up with day clothes just as fabulously as with night-on-the-town ones. I wore this piece with a white tee running errands, with a gray button down to the office, and with a little black dress to dinner. It took on a different look with each outfit with one theme in common – chic.
The Manifest Creativity Necklace is made of citrine and red aventurine, designed for the Sacral (2nd) and Solar Plexus (3rd) chakra to inspire creativity and increase manifestation. It is absolutely gorgeous, like a little ray of sunshine with the yellow tone of the citrine and the orange tone of the aventurine – totally perfect for the coming warmer months. This piece is an attention-grabber, a compliment magnet, and a total must-have. Citrine is an empowering stone. It’s supposed to boost self-esteem, inspire creativity and bring optimism and light into the darkest of situations, giving one the second wind to face the toughest problems. What a great gift this would be to someone who may be experiencing some form of hardship, it’s like you gifting a little ray of sunshine to your recipient’s cloudy day. This would also be an awesome gift for the upcoming graduation season. With this necklace, you’re giving the new graduate a self-esteem boost, inspire creativity in the job search, and optimism for those dark days when the graduate realizes how difficult it is to get a job these days! In all seriousness, I love this necklace and apparently, so do the women who have seen me wearing it. This piece has some sass and quite a bit of sexiness, especially when worn with a deep V neckline. If you’re not feeling too hot and need some lifting up yourself, I would prescribe some shopping therapy and direct your attention to the House of Shakti where you will find many items that will definitely make you feel better!
