Sling Wrap and Guitar String Bracelets by Cinzia Designs
Time sure flies by fast. It has been a year and a half since we last reviewed Cinzia Designs. They certainly have been busy as their Fall 2010 line has expanded to include an exlusive collection of lifestyle accessories such as scarves, belts, bracelets, watches and earrings. Wow!
If you remember, Cinzia Designs is a modern eyewear and eyewear accesories company. They specialize in fashion-forward reading glasses, sun wear, hand-beaded necklaces and eyewear cases to express one’s personal style.
Other than the reading glasses, we have reviewed every type of product they have offered. You can read my review of their Playful Sunwear, Triangle Case, and Teardrop Tort Zia and of their Rapture Sunwear - all very chic pieces which is why we keep on featuring their work.
This time around, we received two pieces from their new collection of Bracelets and Scarves. The first piece is called Guitar String Bracelets which retails for $75. The second piece is called Sling Wrap and it retails for $162.
Starting off with the bracelets, this is a pack of 50 stretchy metal guitar strings imported from Italy. We wanted to review this piece because we thought it a novel idea to use parts of a musical instrument to create a piece of jewelry. How cool is that! Now 50 sounds like a lot but guitar strings are thin so when worn all together, the total width on your wrist is about 2 inches. The fit is nice and snug, the diameter of each string bracelet is about that of a ponytail hair tie. There’s a silvery sheen to each piece that lends a hipness to this casual set. It’s easy to throw on and pairs perfectly with jeans and tees.
Moving on to the sling wrap, we selected this piece for the same reason as the first – novel use of materials in the design. The wrap measures 5 ft, 6.5 inches long and made of 50% silk, 50% cotton. This piece got me at hello. It’s so different from any wrap I have laid eyes on with the black silk bordering both sides and the multitude of navy blue yarn strewn in between. It can be worn in many different ways, as simple as a shoulder wrap or as intricate as pictured above. This wrap is an accessory in the truest sense of the word – a piece not essential in itself but adds to the beauty of something else. In fact, it more than adds to the beauty of something else, it changes it altogether. I threw this on over an old LBD and it breathed new life into it, updated the look and punched up the glam to effortless heights. This is going to be perfect for the upcoming holiday season, can’t wait to parade this out more often!
Speaking of the season, if you’re looking for a gift for yourself or someone with similar discriminating taste, check out Cinzia’s expanded collection of lifestyle accessories. It’s like being in a candy store, it’ll be hard to choose just one. Enjoy!
