Tank Tops by T-Heinrich

Born in Australia’s capital city of Canberra, Janette Lenk grew up enmeshed with fashion. As a child, her mom would always dress her in the latest styles and encouraging her creativity, allowed her to put outfits together.
In high school, Janette would tear up her mom’s vintage clothes and remake them into dresses and tops that were more to her liking. She would always make outfits for school dances not only for herself but her friends as well. Armed with a sewing machine and cutting scissors, she learned about patterns from her aunt and cousin.
In college, she was at the top of her class in fashion and textiles. She loves that one can have vision and be inspired by all things in life and make an interpretation of it.
In 2009, she launched her label T-Heinrich named after her dad and her mom’s first initial. Aspiring to create garments that exhibit an individual style, her pieces are inspired by her interpretation of art. Made with vintage and modern fabrics, each garment is finished off with detailed unique trims and vintage buttons sourced from all over the world. Each garment has been carefully pieced together with ruffles and textures that make the top the feature of any outfit.
T-Heinrich is available down under at Ellory Lane in Canberra City Centre and closer to home, in Gossip at 7322 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The collection includes bow necklaces that retail for $15, tank tops for $59.95, and dresses for $89.95.
We received 3 tank tops for our review and these are absolutely not your typical tank tops. With the necklines embellished in pieced-together vibrant fabrics of varying textures and patterns, shaped into ruffles and trimmed with ribbons – these are tanks kicked up a whole lot of notches!
I adore these tops. They’re funky, chic, unique, effortlessly glam, and totally fabulous. It’s amazing how a little bit of material and a whole lot of design can turn bland tank tops into dressy, va-va-voom creations. I wear these tops with everything – shorts, capris, leggings, jeans. I have been living in them all summer long although with the cooler-than-normal temps we’ve been having, I’m not really sure we can call this summer. With that digression, I’m already thinking of how I can keep on wearing these into fall. Not that I’ve spent a whole lot of time experimenting but wearing them over tight-fitting, solid, long-sleeve tees is definitely an option.
You owe it to yourself to check this label out. If you’re nowhere close to Melrose or down under, you can contact the designer directly. She’s super nice and she’ll be more than happy to dress you up!
