A place of beauty and elegance with a flair for the whimsical – this is the world Stephanie Horowitz-Mulry envelops her designs in and it’s called Mulryjewels.

Stephanie has always loved jewelry making, so much so that if she didn’t create an outlet for them, they would just keep on piling up in her living room.  A busy little bee, she is not only a designer, but a budding opera singer and a voice teacher as well.

Initially started as a way to supplement her singing career, this young upstart has generated quite a demand for her jewelry work in Long Island.  Her pieces have been featured around the New York metro area and she has now made them available to the larger shopping community through her online store.  Her mantra – all of her jewels are carefully made with love.  Her guarantee – she’ll ship anywhere in the world.

We received three items from Mulryjewels’ collection – the Crystal Ball Earrings in Shades of Purple, the Swarovski Crystal Puffy Heart Set in Center, and the Purple Haze Cocktail Ring with Coated Freshwater Pearls and Swarovski.

The necklace features a three-dimensional heart measuring approximately 1” wide, ½” thick, and 1” high.  It is beaded from 72 genuine Swarovski 4mm bicone beads and hangs off a silver-plated chain, adjustable between 15” and 18”.  It retails for $60 but is currently on sale for $45.  It is also available in a gold-plated chain and virtually any color for the heart.

The earrings are made from 30 Swarovski 4mm beads, strung on illusion cord, and tied to a chain.  Dropping about an inch and a half, the balls feature colors of purple velvet, lilac, lavender, amethyst, tanzanite, and smoked topaz.  The pair retails for $40 and can be ordered in any color.

Last but definitely not least, the ring is a cluster of real dyed freshwater pearls, coated glass pearls, 3mm Swarovski beads, and 4 mm Czeck glass beads.  Wrapped with 20 gauge tarnish-resistant silver wire and 24 gauge silver plated wire, the ring can be made to order in any size.  It retails for $25.

What fabulous pieces!  The colors are absolutely perfect for Fall, gorgeous, gorgeous.  The craftsmanship is first-rate and the prices, totally affordable.  During these times, we all want to get the most bang for our buck and you’ll definitely get that with these pieces.  For what would normally be the cost of one designer piece, here you can get three!

What I love about these pieces is that they individually stand on their own and they blend well with other jewelries I already have, mixing and matching.  In the number of times I have worn them this week alone, I can’t even remember how many different combinations I tried.  My absolute favorites though are to wear the necklace with a little black dress and the earrings and ring with a sheer silk top and leggings.

If you’re like me though, you’re probably already thinking about the holidays and what to wear to all the upcoming holiday parties.  With the economy as it is, the best bang is to stick with outfits you already have and make them look different with accessories – jewelry of course being one of them.  The jewel tones of these pieces are quite simply elegant and the sparkle, perfect for the holidays.  The shimmer created by the crystals in the earrings and the necklace is utterly gorgeous at night because of the way light is reflected back by the crystals.   The pieces project elegance, movement, and effortless dressing.  If you like to sparkle and shine and who doesn’t, check out Mulryjewels.  You may just find something you like.
