Gratitude Bracelets and Zodiac Rings by Marnie Rocks
When you’re a mom with four kids heading a million-dollar company and you define style for celebrities, you definitely rock.
A native of Houston, Marnie Greenwood never dreamt she would be where she’s at today when a friend offered to buy a homemade necklace off her neck in 2001. Posting sales over a million dollars and continuing the yearly 100% increase since its inception in 2001, Marnie Rocks is a brand that embodies simple, chic designs that transcend time, trend, and lifestyle.
With celebrity clients like Jessica Alba, Rachael Ray, Brooke Shields, Justin Timberlake, Samuel L. Jackson, and Hillary Duff, the brand continues to grow through press recognition in national magazines and in celebrity-studded events such as the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, the MTV Movie Awards, and the Sundance Film Festival. National magazines that have featured the brand include InStyle, Lucky, In Touch Weekly, and Everyday with Rachael Ray, among many others.
With a mantra of whatever Marnie likes, Marnie rocks, the brand has evolved into a lifestyle store for jewels, accessories, home and tots. With a collection of scarves, gloves, rain gear, tees, bags, stationery, shoes for tots, crib bedding, and of course jewelry, Marnie Rocks is intent on defining style not only for celebrities but for fashionable women all across the country.
With a location in Dallas, in Houston, and online, Marnie has seized the opportunity with her growing business to give back through her involvement with various charitable organizations. Recipients of her generosity include the Young Survival Coalition and the MD Anderson Pediatric Cancer Hospital where she started a program called “I’m Beading Cancer”. She and her team visit the clinic once a week and spend time making jewelry with the patients and their families. The beading provides a much-needed distraction for both parent and child and has been a rewarding experience for all involved.
We received the Gratitude Bracelets and the Libra Zodiac Ring from Marnie Rocks’ Jewelry Collection. The bracelet is a set of seven, each with a gold brushed nugget to represent each day of the week. It retails for $75. The Zodiac Ring measuring ¾” at its tallest is hammered brass and is expandable – one size fits all. It retails for $75.
Each of the seven gratitude bracelets is made of dark brown wood beads and a single gold nugget, with each nugget having a unique shape. The beads exude an earthy and exotic feel that remind me of Southeast Asia or Africa. The nugget is the focal point of each bracelet and adds a modish twist to an otherwise basic piece. The beauty of this bracelet is in its effortless simplicity. It’s in the addition of the nugget as the design element that turned an otherwise ‘been there, done that’ piece into a trendy, chic piece of work. I get compliments on this bracelet every single time I wear it. Even though each can be worn individually, I don’t wear one without all the others. There’s a certain impact in numbers and it’s definitely true in this case – the more, the better. Whether you wear one or all, a must-have for this bracelet set is a pair of straight jeans, a shrunken jacket, and a pair of lattice pumps – Marnie’s not the only one who can rock.
Now you don’t have to be into horoscopes to appreciate zodiac signs. In my case, my sign is Libra – the seventh sign of the zodiac representing balance and no, I don’t read the horoscope… unless it says I’m going to have a really, really good day. But I digress.
Horoscopes aside, Marnie’s zodiac rings are the absolute coolest. I certainly love mine. The size is perfect. At ¾” inch at its tallest, it’s the perfect dimension to be seen without screaming to be noticed. I like the chicness of it and the best part is that the ring is expandable which means I can wear it on any finger. All rings should be designed this way.
Speaking of fingers, you may want to let yours do some walking and see for yourself why Jessica Alba buys her baby bedding from Marnie, amongst all the other things celebrities buy from her. You know, Marnie rocks. She really does.
