Eternal Necklace by Van Elly

vanellyeternalnecklace

Van Elly is a young luxury brand that is striving to achieve its goal of making us women realize how beautiful we truly are.  Their vision is to make us recognize that jewelry brings out an individual’s natural beauty. It does not create it.  It merely enhances and draws out the beauty that’s already there.  This vision is Van Elly’s guiding design philosophy.

For its first collection, Van Elly introduces five sterling silver necklaces – the silver jade, the woman, the bloom, the eternal, and the embrace.

Van Elly’s jewelry is 92.5% silver, which actually defines the term, sterling silver.  With proper care and storage, sterling silver jewelry will last you a lifetime.  Van Elly believes that the properties of silver are ideal for creating stunning pieces of jewelry.  It is able to achieve the most brilliant shine of any metal due to the fact that silver has the highest degree of optical reflectivity, reflecting 95% of all visible light.  It is very soft and malleable which allow for shaping and molding into an infinite number of forms, creating bold, beautiful, and artistic pieces of jewelry.

The Van Elly craftsmanship is defined by attention to detail, quality and finish.  From the concept design process to the precision laser engraving of their logo, every detail is carefully executed. Unless specified in the design, their jewelry is always solid, never hollowed out.  They take their craft seriously and their craftsmanship even more so.

We received the eternal necklace, a sterling silver pendant with a polished finish on an adjustable 16” – 18” rubber cord.  It retails for $95.

It arrived beautifully packaged in a signature Van Elly black jewelry box.  The eternal pendant is as chic as you can get.  It’s basic, yet sophisticated.  The structure is modern and the design super stylish.  Imagine a square piece of sterling silver with rounded corners, hole in the middle, folded over the rubber cord, with the front flap just a tad shorter than the back one (engraved with the Van Elly logo by the way).  It’s absolutely gorgeous and oh so creative!  Even the cord is chic – a matte black rubber with the feel of satin.

The pendant itself is petite in size measuring in at about ½” high and less than 1” wide.  As dainty as it is, I was surprised at how bold and sophisticated it looked around my neck.  As I wore it and it got exposed to air and it came in contact with my skin, it began to lose a bit of its luster and shine.  This is true of all sterling silver jewelry, no need to panic.  All you need is a gentle cloth and off comes the fingerprints and back it goes to its original glory.  I have gotten into the habit of cleaning it before I put it on because it looks its absolute best after it has been polished.

Silver jewelry is a wardrobe staple.  Everyone needs to have one.  It’s the little black dress of jewelries.  Speaking of little black dresses, the eternal necklace is fabulous with a hip number like this Lalave Hooded Fleece Dress by Diesel.  If you’re looking to expand your silver collection, add a Van Elly to it.  I sure am glad I have the eternal necklace to add to mine.  True to its name, it’s a timeless piece that I know I will wear season after season and year after year.
